Salisbury Delight "Traditional Style"

Directions:

  1. Cover 2 bags vegetarian protein pieces with water or vegetarian beef broth & simmer for 20 - 25 minutes, until soft.
  2. In a separate bowl mix 2 spice bags with;1 gallon of tomato sauce, 1 quart oil and 1.5 quarts of water (as needed for moisture).
  3. Drain the hydrated protein pieces and stir into the spice mixture.
  4. Chill mixture until firm (approx. 2 hours or overnight in refrigerator), shape into patties, steaks or meat balls and bake at 350°, 15-20 minutes until firm to touch (timing will vary with thickness of patty).

Salisbury Delight can be used to make great Vege Salisbury Steaks, Cheeseburgers, Meatless Meatballs, Stuffed Shells and even Stuffed Peppers and Cabbage. These are just some of the great entrees you can easily make.

  • Serve on a toasted bun

Ingredients:
Textured Soy Flour and caramel color
Seasoning Blend: Egg white solids, breadcrumbs, hydrolyzed soy protein, maltodextrin, dried onions, salt, wheat gluten, dextrose, dried red and green bell peppers, dried carrots, soybean oil, garlic
powder, torula yeast, worstershire sauce solids, spices and dried parsley.
